The Department of Horticulture is seeking outstanding candidates interested in obtaining a M.S or Ph.D. in fields related to Horticulture; including genetics, plant breeding, molecular biology, plant physiology, plant nutrition, production of horticultural crops, ecology, and post harvest physiology. Assistantships, including tuition waivers, are available for the 2008-2009 academic years.
Please apply by January 15, 2008 for all possible funding opportunities for the following Fall semester. International students must apply 5 months before the intended starting date.

Consumer Marketing Research |
A research opportunity, at either the Master of Science (M.S.) or Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) level, is available for individuals interested in conducting consumer marketing research. Potential research projects include, but are not limited to, investigating consumer awareness and potential demand for edible goods or for horticultural services. Individuals with an interest in pursuing graduate studies in the field of consumer marketing research should contact Dr. Kathleen Kelley for more information. |
Plant Nutrition |
Graduate fellowship available in Plant Nutrition. Possible topics include 1) the role of Mn toxicity in the health of the eastern forest of North America, and how this may be affected by global change and land use, and 2) the genetics, physiology, and ecology of root traits for enhanced crop nutrient acquisition from low fertility soils.
